Engineered & Solid Hardwood Floor Refinishing

Hardwood Floor Refinishing is a great way to make your old wood floors look new. It helps remove deep scratches, chips, dents, stains, and worn areas. You can refinish solid, engineered, and parquet floors. We use water-based finishes and stains that have no smell and dry quickly. Oil-based finishes are also an option.

Pros & Cons of Hardwood Refinishing

Here’s a simple way to fix dents and scratches on wood floors: hardwood sanding. This method removes a bit of the top layer which allows you to change the wood’s color with different stains.

However, keep in mind that each time you refinish, about 0.5 – 1.5 mm of the top layer is taken off. This means you can only do it a limited number of times, as specified by the hardwood’s details.

Sandless Wood Floor Refinishing (Buffing & Polishing)

Sandless Hardwood Refinishing is great for wood floors in good condition that just need a little refresh. This method uses a sanding machine to lightly buff the floor and applies an etching chemical on the surface. Small damages are fixed before adding a new finish coat. This process is often called hardwood buffing or polishing.

This refinishing method is medium intensive. It’s quicker and cheaper than traditional sanding refinishing. It doesn’t remove much of the hardwood’s top layer, but it’s not completely dustless, so some dust will settle in your home. This method won’t remove deep scratches or dents and doesn’t allow for floor staining.

Wood Floor Refinishing & Restoration Via Deep Cleaning & Recoat

This method safely cleans old wood floors without heavy sanding or losing wood layers.

Hardwood recoating gives results like refinishing or buffing but keeps the wood intact. You can choose finishes like matte, satin, or gloss, just like with sanded floors. Plus, there’s no dust. It’s best for floors in good condition with few or no damage spots.

Many use hardwood recoating every few years to protect their floors and delay full refinishing. While most wood floors can be refinished several times, recoating helps maintain them longer and saves money.
